Jumpstart Your Career In Dementia Care

James L. West Center offers Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training on-site. Selected applicants will complete the State of Texas CNA curriculum with additional 10 hours of training and practicum in dementia care.

Students will have the opportunity to interview and become James L. West Center CNAs and start work immediately.

Curriculum includes:

Introduction to long-term care
Basic nurse assistant skills
Personal care skills
Clinical practice at James L. West
Life and career skills
Expanded dementia care

Program Requirements:

Must be 17 years of age
Pass criminal background check and drug screening
Must have two forms of identification
Able to work in the U.S.
Meet Center's uniform requirements: gray scrubs, short nails, no jewelry, etc.
Must be able to read and write English

The West Center’s CNA program is approved as an exempt career school by the Texas Workforce Commission – Career Schools and Colleges and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
